Hello. I'm Jen Bannerman; founder of, and principal therapist at Spire.
I understand there are times we all need some support to overcome the challenges life throws at us. Everyday life can be difficult so when we experience added stressors such as health and financial worries, relationship issues, work stress, bereavement, loss and trauma, it can impact our mental health and wellbeing further.
At Spire, we will always provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you will be listened to, and where we can explore and help manage your difficulties.
We work with individuals in a one-to-one or group basis, schools and businesses to develop practical strategies for positive mental health.
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that helps you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.
It is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression but it can also be used to overcome a host of other mental and physical health problems such as phobias, addictions, OCD, eating disorders and trauma.
At Spire, we compliment CBT with other therapeutic modalities such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Mindfulness.
